Residence-permit applications: practical help
Practical help preparing and submitting residence-permit applications in the Netherlands and Sweden. In other countries we point you to registered advisers or lawyers.

Who may help with a residence-permit application depends on the country.
- Netherlands: anyone may assist or represent an applicant with a written authorisation (Awb art. 2:1 (opens in a new tab)).
- Sweden: an ombud (representative) may apply for you with a power of attorney (fullmakt), according to Migrationsverket (opens in a new tab).
- United Kingdom: immigration advice and services may only be given by a qualified person (IAA 1999 s.84 (opens in a new tab)). We can point you to registered advisers.
- Germany, France, Spain and Italy: we can point you to a lawyer or to free official help.

Frequently asked questions
Do you handle appeals, objections or asylum cases?
Our residence-permit help is practical: explaining the published requirements for the route you have chosen, organising documents, completing forms on your instructions and submitting with your written authorisation. For appeals, objections, asylum and contested cases, we refer you to a lawyer.
Independent help with the official process. You can also apply to the authority yourself; its fees are paid to it, separately from ours. How we work
